Commissioning a piece

As you can see from the commissions page we have made many different pieces. We can make most types of jewellery so feel free to contact us if you have an idea or would just like something a little different from what is displayed on the Justin Duance contemporary jewellery website.

Rings/Wedding rings

If you wish to commission a fairly standard ring you can start by working through the the following tasks:

The width of the band
The shape of the band
The choice of metal
The width of the inlay or texture
The position of the inlay or texture.

Below is a list of the metals that we work with and their approximate prices. There is more information on the metal properties on our precious metals page.

If you decide to commission a piece of contemporary jewellery in anything other than silver I can send you a silver template of the ring (this may not be in your size) but to see the width and a metal sizer to make sure that you are happy with the design and size.

Ring Widths

We calculate our ring widths in millimeters. We can make a ring of any width. Sometimes it is a good idea to cut strips of paper or thin card to different widths and wrap them around your finger to give an idea of the look. You could also draw the inlay or texture on to the band.
