A Bespoke Eternity Ring Brimming with Symbolism

Nicky first approached us about having her wedding ring recast because the profile was different from he engagement ring; but then she and her husband met a couple who had been married for 70 years. It made them think about how by changing her wedding ring it wouldn’t be the same one her husband put on her finger.

This romantic point led to a decision to commission a slim eternity ring to wear between her engagement and wedding rings. The eternity ring incorporates ideas from both of her rings; As her engagement ring and wedding ring have different profiles, to marry them together, we made an eternity ring with one flat edge and the other comfort.

The romance didn’t end there, Nicky had some of her own heirloom diamonds to add to the design too. However there weren’t quite enough to pavé set all the way around the ring. To fill the gap, the couple chose to continue the design with London blue Topaz as both of their eyes are blue; and geen tsavorites as they met in green (their ambulance uniforms). In the centre of the blue green side we set a slightly bigger green garnet – Nicky’s birthstone.

Nicky was “chuffed to bits” with the final ring and particularly likes being able to swivel it around alternating between the glue and green side and the diamond side – depending on how colourful she is feeling!
